Hong Kong Visa Information for Indian Passport Holders

1.      Short-Stay Visits (Up to 14 Days)

Indian nationals can visit Hong Kong for up to 14 days without a traditional visa, provided they complete the Pre-Arrival Registration (PAR) online in advance.

• PAR (Pre-Arrival Registration) is mandatory for all Indian passport holders visiting Hong Kong.
• Once approved, it is valid for 6 months (or until your passport expires, whichever comes earlier).
• During this validity, you may make multiple entries, each stay up to 14 days.
• On arrival, you must carry:
• The same passport used for registration
• A printed copy of your PAR Notification Slip

Note: Direct air transit without leaving the airport may not require PAR. However, if you intend to leave the airport or travel onward to Macao or Mainland China, PAR is compulsory.

3.      Passport & Entry Requirements

To apply for PAR or enter Hong Kong, you must have:

• A valid Indian passport (minimum 6 months validity from date of entry)
• A confirmed return or onward flight ticket
• Accommodation details for your stay
• Sufficient funds for travel and stay

4.      For Stays Longer than 14 Days or Other Purposes

If you plan to stay in Hong Kong for more than 14 days, or for reasons other than tourism (e.g., business, employment, study, etc.), you will need to apply for a Visit Visa / Entry Permit through:

• The Hong Kong Immigration Department (HK ImmD), or
• A Chinese Consulate or Embassy in India

You will be required to provide:

• Visa application form
• Passport-size photos
• Proof of financial means and accommodation
• Travel itinerary and invitation letter (if applicable)

These longer-duration visas generally take 4–6 weeks to process.

6.      Important Tips & Guidelines

• Even with a valid PAR or visa, entry is subject to immigration clearance at Hong Kong Airport.

• Overstaying your permitted period may result in fines or future entry bans.

For Long-Stay or Full Visa (More than 14 Days)

If you intend to stay in Hong Kong for more than 14 days or for a specific purpose (business, employment, study, etc.), additional documents are required:

1. Visa Application Form (ID 1003A) – Duly filled and signed
2. Recent Passport-Size Photograph – White background, taken within 6 months
3. Valid Passport – Minimum 6 months validity
4. Cover Letter – Explaining the purpose and duration of stay
5. Proof of Financial Means – Last 3 months’ bank statements or income proof
6. Accommodation Proof – Hotel booking confirmation or invitation letter from host
7. Travel Itinerary – Detailed day-wise plan or purpose of visit
8. Employment / Business Documents (if applicable) – NOC from employer or business proof
9. Invitation Letter from Hong Kong Company / Relative (if applicable)
